Tetiana Malkova, LCMHC
Tetiana Malkova is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology and a Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Tetiana received her training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) from the EMDR Institute of Dr. Francine Shapiro.
Tetiana specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, attachment issues, grief, and PTSD. In her clinical practice, Tetiana primarily uses EMDR, a psychotherapy treatment designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories by activating the brain’s innate healing capacity. In addition, Tetiana incorporates mindfulness-based, existential, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, expressive arts, and other therapeutic approaches to meet clients’ specific needs.
Tetiana believes in the importance of addressing the underlying causes that lead to mental health issues. She collaboratively works with clients on identifying and processing unprocessed memories that are often the foundation of current symptoms. Clients gain a better understanding of themselves, learn how to heal pain, find liberation from unhelpful negative emotions, beliefs, and behaviors, and discover feelings of happiness and well-being. As a therapist, Tetiana feels privileged to join her clients on their journey of self-exploration, discovery, healing, and growth.
