Cat Rutstein
Cat Rutstein (she/her) is a clinical mental health counseling intern earning her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Cat is dedicated to supporting children, adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and ADHD. She also enjoys working with clients to address relationship difficulties, women’s issues, life transitions, and the general stressors that show up in our daily lives.
Drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities, Cat integrates several approaches into her therapeutic work including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) , Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and existential theory. Drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities allows clients to develop greater present-moment awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, and learn practical tools for managing intense emotions. Cat creates a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and challenges without judgement.
Cat strives to make therapy a transformative and collaborative experience for each person she works with. She believes every client deserves a care plan that is tailored to their specific needs, whatever they may be. Her aim as a counselor is to empower individuals to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives, one therapy session at a time. Cat is supervised by Justina Floyd, our Training Director.
